It is a must for keyboard lovers to DIY your keyboard. Switch Sound Dampeners SheetThis product is a Switch Sound Dampeners sheet, which is placed between the keyboard's circuit board (PCB) and the positioning board. A combination of both these things seems to have made it a TON better. It fills the entire keyboard, the soud is thicker, the resonance of the plastic keyboard and the cavity sound are eliminated. Ultimately, I just lubed the holy hell out of the space bar stabilizer wire and put electrical tape on the bottom of the plate where the wire could potentially hit the bottom of the plate. It may have worked if I had taken the time to cut small pieces of foam to go inside those recesses, but aint nobody got time for that. This is probably a GMK only issue, since there are plastic crosses between the mounts in the bottom of the space bar. I couldn't get the wire back into the stabilizer housing.įoam under the space bar was too thick no matter what thickness and affected the travel significantly. The combination in a sound reproducing machine pinge against and set said brake mechanism, said stop having a traveling element, a turn table and a brake. Heatsink/electrical tape on the space bar stabilizer wire were both too thick. The bar is not hitting the bottom of the plate, and it's bandaid modded.Īny idea how to fix this or even what causes it? I know this question has been asked a bunch of times but searching brought up threads with non-answers or just "lube it", which I've done.Įdit in case anyone finds this by searching: I've got Tealios lubed fairly heavily with tribosys 3204, zeal screw in stabilizers (they come prelubed but I put more on the spacebar trying to fix this issue), and GMK Laser keycaps. I just want the space bar to sound like the rest of the stabilized keys. About 8 seconds into the clip I start just pressing on the space bar and other stabilized keys, and you can tell a HUGE difference in the sound. Otherwise, the board feels and sounds incredible. I've got an M60 and I love it, except for the spacebar upstroke.
